Gail Montplaisir, Founder + President, LEED AP
A native of Willow Springs, Illinois, a town of 3,000, and a 1976 graduate of Illinois State University, Gail has worked in development and construction throughout the Midwest and Eastern U.S. since 1979. As a member of the development team for First Condominium Development Company of Chicago and subsequently the Vice President of Michaelson Properties, Gail was involved in the acquisition, development and equity financing of more than $200 million worth of property, including more than 3,000 apartment and condominium units in Chicago, Florida, and metro Washington, D.C., including the Willoughby of Chevy Chase, Chelsea Tower Condominium in Bethesda and The Carlton Condominium in Arlington, VA.
She moved to the District of Columbia in 1980. In 1987 she founded Taurus Development Group. Since 1983, she has directed and completed the conversion of more than 1000 apartment units to condominium in the metro area. The conversion process has included preparation of condominium conversion documentation, design, gutting of buildings, renovation, new construction, marketing and unit sales. Other local projects include the development of waterfront homes; acquisition and redevelopment of existing properties; and acquisition and renovation of commercial and investment properties.
Gail is recognized as an authority on urban housing, particularly in old and historic neighborhoods, and on the impact of redevelopment and construction on the environment and streetscape, subjects on which she speaks, writes, and is interviewed. She was a co-founder of Man Environment Relations Research Institute (MERRI), a non-profit organization formed in the early 1990s for the study of sustainable development and construction techniques. Gail serves on the Board of Directors of DC Greenworks (www.dcgreenworks.org) as well as Peace X Peace (www.peacexpeace.org).
She is married to architect Norman Smith, who provides design on the projects she develops, including all the projects in Washington, D.C. He is the author of Small Space Living Design and has won numerous awards for his architectural design. He wrote a weekly column for The Washington Post, “By Design,” from 1989 until 1997.
Mark Yeager, Vice President, BPI Certification
As Vice-president of Taurus Development Group, Mark Yeager is responsible for the construction management and maintenance of all existing TDG projects and properties, and also has significant input in the search, selection, acquisition and development of all new projects and properties.
Mark has over 10 year experience with Taurus Development Group. Starting as a construction supervisor for simple renovation, to a site superintendent/project manager of multimillion-dollar condominium buildings. Ultimately serving as vice-president in 2005. Mark holds a B.S in finance from Mt. St. Mary’s, is married to Cindy, and has two girls Emily and Hannah.

Alan Sticco, Chief Financial Officer
Chanta Cobb, Property Management Specialist
Chanta is responsible for the rentals, licensing and customer service for Taurus Clients. She also acts as first point of contact for most callers and visitors.
Chanta began her career in the non-profit sector at the age of 17 with the National Crime Prevention Council’s Youth Services Department. Chanta later worked as the Staff Assistant to the VP for Public Safety and Emergency Management at the University of the District of Columbia before moving on to become the Registrar at Duke Ellington School of the Arts.
Chanta is a member of Grace United Baptist Church, located in Washington, DC and serving the community actively by way of witnessing and annual community outreach initiatives. She is also active with the youth/students of the Duke Ellington School of the Arts as a mentor.

Sara Loveland, Business Development
Sara explores and builds new partnership, construction, and development opportunities for TDG and its partners.
Sara is a green building advocate, committed to finding ways for stakeholders to realize positive economic benefits through environmentally conscious business practices. She holds a Master of Business Administration in Environmental Policy & Management from The George Washington University and a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Arizona State University. She most recently served as Chief Operating Officer of Access Green (2009-2010) and as Interim Executive Director of DC Greenworks (2008-2010). She has experience in asset and property management, marketing, and international education. Sara serves on the Board of Directors of DC Greenworks, the Editorial Advisory Board of the Living Architecture Monitor, The George Washington University Climate Action Panel, the Adjunct Faculty of American University, and the Leadership Committee of Capitol Canines. She is also an enthusiastic member of the US Green Building Council, LiveGreen, Urban Land Institute, and The National Building Museum. In what little time she has left, she enjoys renovating historic homes, international travel, backyard BBQs with friends, animated debates, and exploring the great outdoors with the smartest dog in the world.

Gregory King, Lead Carpenter
Greg is a master carpenter and supervises field staff on a day to day basis as an Assistant to the Site Superintendent.
