Located in Rappahannock County, Virginia, our clients started with a farm house surrounded by gardens and forest that had received many additions but still left much to be desired. With door heights of barely 6 feet and small rooms with few windows, the owners yearned for open space and gallery walls to hang their art collection, and, room for their dogs to settle in. Norman designed the project with the owners as a design-bid-build project. Taurus was the selected contractor. While this was not a design/build from the outset, the daily site reviews led to an extraordinary collaborate among clients, architect and contractor that pushed the project to new levels.
